Notetaking Services

What is Computerized Notetaking?

A computer notetaker enhances and/or facilitates access to information for a variety of consumers, including persons with disabilities, such as:

  • people who are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing
  • people with learning disabilities
  • people with physical disabilities
  • people with visual impairments

The notetaker types information presented by a speaker or lecturer through the use of a laptop computer. The process is not a verbatim transcription. All main concepts and key terminology are typed. This work is carried out in many different environments, including universities and colleges, businesses, associations, and government departments.
